Many breeds are predisposed to certain genetic issues. Conscientious breeders strive to eliminate or at least reduce these problems by careful selection of the dogs in their breeding program.
At Evesham, my Cavaliers are tested for mitral valve disease annually, hip dysplasia, patellar subluxation, and eye disorders by veterinarian specialists. My females are not bred until they are fully tested and 2 years of age. Most often, I breed to carefully selected proven Champion males that are over the age of 5 and free from any major health issues. About Cavalier Health is very informative and will give you a good perspective on issues relating to the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Evesham puppies are sold to pet homes with the understanding that your puppy will be spayed/neutered at the proper time. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies will cost $2000-$3500 from most reputable breeders. Our puppies are dual registered with the AKC and CKCSC...the only legitimate registries in the US. Price may vary depending on your location, gender, color, markings and parents of your puppy. At Evesham, we stand behind the health and welfare of our Cavaliers. As with most things in life, patience and persistence pays off. Waiting for just the right puppy from a reputable breeder will help insure that you have a wonderful companion for many, many years to come!
